Sunrise Records is a cool store. From the quirky clothing, to the vast selection of cd's, records, DVDs, and Blu Rays, there is just so much to browse around and look at. The selection is really good. Anybody could go in and find something they like.
The reason for only 3 stars though is that the prices are insane. The cost of buying a vinyl here compared to online is astronomical. In some cases I have found vinyls less than half the price online for the same condition. I can't justify paying so much more for the same item.
The staff here are really hit and miss. Some employees are helpful and kind, while some others seem very cold and unfriendly. It makes me not want to shop around when the employees seem put out.

Sunrise records in the Avalon Mall had the worst customer service I have experienced anywhere today. No help whatsoever looking for something. Basically told to go look yourself. Getting checked out and the entire time the cashier is having a conversation with a buddy... that isn't working there by the way . Sunrise records...do better!

Staff is short with customers, asked if they carried artist, they quickly replied no without looking, I then turned around and the artist I was looking for was front and centre

We've been there twice. First time we booked in advance and were shown around inside. Good to see a place of music history where many influential artists started. Second time we visited we thought they had a cafe and/or coffee shop. But they really don't and we didn't stay.

Good record store in a city that has little options when it comes to buying vinyls. They'll try their best to order what you're looking for if you don't have it. The staff are friendly and they carry some odds and ends like toys and collectibles. They also sell some record players. Great spot in the Avalon Mall!

Please be very careful when purchasing here and be sure to check each items price during checkout.

I purchased a couple items using a gift card. I didn’t pay close enough attention to the itemized price at checkout, but when I got home I realized one of the items was charged about 45% higher than the marked price. I decided to go back to the store to see if they could correct the error. I was told by the cashier that they have put signs up to notify that the price at the cash may not match the marked price. I can completely understand and accept that they may not be able to keep all the marked prices accurate and up to date with the amount of inventory across the store. However, they could at least have the decency to notify the customer that the price is higher than expected, instead of just completing the checkout and not mentioning anything?

It would take the cashier 2 seconds to cross check the price as they are ringing things up, instead they choose to put up signs and absolve themselves from any responsibility.

Regardless, it would be best to choose an alternative store for your media purchases if you want to ensure you are not unexpectedly getting overcharged.

As a regular visitor to Sunrise Records in the Avalon Mall I must say that their customer service is exceptional. They have a vast product knowledge of what record they have in stock and when they will be getting new stock. I always find that they are getting in new new products that aren't even records so I never know what kind of new product I will find. 10/10 can't recommend this store enough.
