I recently visited the Pickering location to get quotes on some luxury items, and I had an outstanding experience. I went to Oliver’s Jewelry yesterday to sell a 10k white gold necklace with sapphire and diamonds worth $800. I didn’t check their website first, my mistake. I was only looking at ads, which led me to believe they took gold and diamonds. Given there was sapphire in the necklace, you’d think they would’ve turned me away, but they didn’t. When I handed it over for appraisal, the guy asked what I wanted for it, and I said half, $400. He said, “Give me five minutes.” He came back and said it wasn’t worth much and suggested I sell it privately. I asked him what his offer was, and he said $50. I asked, “Could you at least do $100?” He came back with the same low offer of $50 and added $10 and also gave me a $50 gift card to their store. When I asked what the difference was between giving me cash and the gift card, he said, “The machine wouldn’t let me.”

The website says they accept diamonds, but after the fact, I checked and saw they mainly care about gold/The weight of it because what I was selling was light it wasn’t “worth much”. The value of the diamonds wasn’t considered, and they don’t take gemstones.

I’ll give two stars because the guy I spoke to was really respectful while attempting to rob me in broad daylight.
