Working with Carrie was an absolute dream. From the moment my partner and I started talking about rings, I knew I wanted something less traditional. We had shopped around for a while but nothing was standing out to me—this was when we began discussing a custom ring. A quick Google search led us to Frida, and after looking through the designs on the website and Instagram page we decided we needed to go ASAP.

The next day we went to Frida for the first time, and from the moment we entered the shop, it has been an all around unforgettable experience. Despite not knowing us at all, Carrie radiated an incredibly kind and warm energy while taking a deep interest in understanding what I was looking for. She figured this out seemingly effortlessly despite how many times I changed my mind about the style I wanted. She was so patient and accommodating, gently guiding us through the process with her phenomenal knowledge of design and her ability to see our vision. Both my fiancé and I fell in love with Carrie’s gorgeous and unique bespoke jewelry collection, but we fell in love with HER even more—it is her lovely self that made the experience so incredible for us.

We cannot recommend Carrie and her shop Frida Fine Jewelry enough. My engagement ring is just the first of many pieces of jewelry we will both get from Carrie over the span of our lives. My ring is so ME, exactly what I pictured in my mind the day I made that Google search, and Carrie was able to perfectly bring it to life! I couldn’t be more in love with it or more proud to wear it on my finger. We’re both already so looking forward to working with Carrie again very soon to design our wedding bands!

For my fiancé and I, deciding to get engaged was easy! What was much more daunting was the thought of finding a beautiful, unique ring that would represent our bond and commitment to one another.

The first and last place we went ring shopping was FRIDA. From the moment we walked in, Carrie made us feel seen and engaged. When helping us design a unique ring, she was thoughtful about incorporating our budget, lifestyle and tastes. Carrie emphasized the importance of selecting a beautiful stone that we would never tire of looking at.

When it came time to build the ring, Carrie was realistic that our idea of using a deeply set emerald for the ring’s central stone might not be possible given emerald’s propensity to fracture during setting, and she brought up the idea of using a diamond instead. In the end, Carrie generously offered to try an emerald first and if it fractured, she would select a diamond.

The first time we both saw the ring was when we proposed to each other on the South shore at sunset. At that time, we still had no idea if the ring would contain an emerald or diamond.

We could not be more delighted with our beautiful ring. The diamond sparkles more than any other we’ve seen and we are both taken away by the heft and hue of the rose gold frame. Not knowing which stone we would end up receiving was an exciting and unique twist to our engagement, and required us to have absolute faith in Carrie. You absolutely must check out FRIDA, whether you are from NS or visiting. She is a brilliantly charismatic person whose passion for jewellery is evident in everything she creates. We could not be happier with our experience!

One of the unexpected pleasures that came from planning a surprise wedding proposal for my girlfriend was buying the engagement ring at FRIDA. I went in to Carrie’s shop with no ring size and only vague notions of my partner’s preferences. I hid it well, but I was anxious about making the wrong choice.

Carrie was great. She talked me down out of the tree. She asked smart questions and had a great sense of humour. By the end of our meeting, with a solid game plan for a ring, and what we would do if it didn’t fit, I walked out of there in a great mood. She left the big decisions to me and made some smaller design decisions herself that made the ring even more special.

And yes, yes, I’ll tell you how the proposal went. Calm down. My partner loved the ring, despite the fact I forgot to open the box when I popped the question. It did have to be resized, but that was effortless and a great excuse to have another visit with Carrie. So, a big recommendation for FRIDA: Fine Jewellery. Five stars.

This is by far the best experience that we could have asked for when creating our custom and unique engagement ring. From start to finish the process was enjoyable and we considered each of our appointments as dates that we could experience together which added such a romantic touch to the whole process. She walked me through every step of the process, giving unbiased advice when picking out an engagement ring for my fiancée. She was quick and kept me informed every step of the way.

We didn’t hesitate to go back for a wedding band and once again Carrie was amazing. She actually cares! The rings came out better than expected!

My experience from start to finish with Frida was incredible! As a man was understandably nervous about making sure I got the right ring for my now Fiancé, Carrie made all of those nerves go away within 5 minutes of the first visit!

The ring was absolutely stunning and creating it with her was a really fun experience. Carrie's taught me so many things I had no idea about which also reassured me about the decisions I made.

Safe to say, after carrying the ring through Central and South America for 7 months. She said YES!
