We purchased a GE PROFILE Refrigerator about 3 years ago. We had it for JUST over 1 year when the freezer went out, so it wasn’t within the warranty replacement. However, the parts ARE under warranty. They sent a service tech out. He had to REBUILD THE FREEZER TWICE. IT TOOK OVER 5 MONTHS TO GET IT WORKING AGAIN. THERE WERE SO MANY SERVICE CALLS THAT WE HAD TO WAIT WITHIN THEIR TIME WINDOW. SO MUCH LOST TIME, SITTING AND WAITING, YET IT WASN’T FIXED OVER AND OVER. After more than 5 months it was fixed, BUT IT WENT OUT AGAIN WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF THE REPAIR. WE ARE NOW GOING THROUGH THE SAME PROCESS AGAIN WIHTIN LESS THAN 6 MONTHS. I’ve called GE but they did absolutely nothing! We have BEGUN REPLACING THE PARTS AGAIN PART BY PART. THIS MEANS WE ARE BACK IN THE SAME SITUATION. Waiting within their time windows to be told it needs more parts. I was under the mistaken impression that GE PROFILE was their higher end tier. MISTAKEN IMPRESSION. I sincerely hope nobody else has to go through this. Given the time in labor it has taken to fix it for the 3rd time they could’ve have saved themselves, and us a lot of money, wasted time, and frustration by replacing the unit entirely. However, the great thing about that is it keeps people secure in their jobs. Bottom line… DO NOT BUY GE PROFILE APPLIANCES. Defective and getting them serviced back to a working condition is an absolute nightmare.

I love GE Refrigerator and their repair service. When i called they have the record of my previous repair 10 years ago and whenever i bought my Refrigerator (GE Profile Artica) When the Repair Guy (Jim) he is very friendly, professional and thorough with explaining what’s wrong and how it’s going to be fixed and warranty, he even repaired the ice cube maker and water dispenser that I said is not working aside from the original repair that I requested (freezer not working) Buy GE , Great Company.

Was told one price then charged a lot more. Felt like given the run around when asked for breakdown of new charge amount.. Glad the dishwasher gasket was replaced but feel like charged too much for the 10 minutes the guy was here. Part on internet was less than $18.
